de Le Cuona at the WOW!house 1ST JUNE TO 1ST JULY Join de Le Cuona and United Design at the first ever showhouse at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour. Here top interior brands team up with leading interior designers. United in Design, a charitable organisation founded by Sophie Ashby and Alexandria Dauley encourages diversity in the UK interior design industry. Alexandria says that “the opportunity this presents our young designers is invaluable. Working with such an iconic brand, using beautiful fabrics to create a living space is any designer's career highlight.” Bernie de Le Cuona is keen to nurture new talent and this collaboration sees recently graduated apprentices Roshu Shrestha and Christine Omorere using de Le Cuona fabrics to create the living room at the WOW! house. Bernie says, “From its very conception, I have been completely enthused by this ambitious project. It’s such a fantastic platform for us all to come together and celebrate the very best this industry has to offer.” Roshu Shrestha and Christine Omorere The de Le Cuona Living Room Designed with the wellbeing of people and the planet in mind the contemporary interior combines comfort with luxury, raw textures with polished surfaces, and statement pieces with detailed finishes. Visitors will be encouraged to explore the subtle details, textures, and forms as they move through the space, and take in the restful meditative interior. “Wherever we live, we feel a deep connection to the natural world. I use natural fibres as much as possible and we have chosen to apply a biophilic design philosophy to our space.” Bernie de Le Cuona The room brings together many handcrafted elements including bespoke curtains, cushions and soft furnishings, sculptural vessels, and a living wall. Sophisticated raw linen mix with artworks by Emma Zhang in a palette inspired by the earth, hand-coiled stoneware by Abigail Ozora Simpson and fallen wood artworks by Nic Webb. Take time to explore these understated combinations, enjoy the beauty of the handmade and tune into this collaborative interior vision of the natural world.
