Thanks to Our WOW! House Partners and Collaborators

Thanks to Our WOW! House Partners and Collaborators

The 1st of July marked the end of the WOW!house experience for de Le Cuona. Thanks to all of our generous partners for being a part of the first-ever exhibition to feature rooms created by over twenty of the world’s most prestigious interior designers.

Eco Foundry in association with A Greener London:

Walls: Bespoke Living Wall

Living wall specialists Eco Foundry and A Greener London collaborated to create the breath-taking bespoke Living Wall in the de Le Cuona Living room. Both companies are suppliers of managed vegetation systems & greening solutions including living walls, living roofs, and biophilic planting schemes. This stunning living, breathing, natural feature measured 5m x 2.5m and contained over 350 plants creating the anchor for the design of the restful and restorative de Le Cuona WOW!house room.

Eco Foundry and A Greener London living walls are low maintenance, sustainable, water managed vertical gardens that can be installed in interior or exterior spaces. They can be fitted as permanent wall systems, or constructed as a freestanding frame. Either option can be adapted to any size space to create a unique feature in both commercial and residential settings. Every living wall contains integrated irrigation and water management, so it is relatively self-sufficient.

With a diverse range of seasonal plants available, living walls improve health and wellbeing in the home and workplace by absorbing toxic chemical elements (Volatile organic compounds and particulate matter) and by re-oxygenating spaces. This helps reduce illness and stress and can increase productivity, concentration, alertness, and motivation. They also have outstanding acoustic and insulation benefits.

Eco Foundry and A Greener London offer a UK-wide installation and delivery service.

Abigail Ozora-Simpson

Artwork & Objects: Small Zigzag black clay sculpture | Large Zigzag black clay sculpture

Sculptor, Abigail Orzora-Simpson, hand coils large ceramic art pieces using coarse black and pink stoneware clay that is fired to a high temperature in her studio in Margate, England. Abigail’s work has gained international recognition in the art and interiors world and has been exhibited in London, New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Two large, statement Zigzag pieces were selected for the WOW!house room. Together they brought a sense of scale and drama, a depth of tone, and an earthy rawness that complemented the other textures in the room.

Vessel Gallery

Artwork & Objects: ‘Tall Black Collapsed Bowl’ coloured porcelain, Olivia Walker | Slashed Crumpled Form No. 60’ white St. Thomas clay with stoneware glazes, Nicholas Arroyave-Portela

Founded in 1999 in Notting Hill, London, The Vessel Gallery is an authority on contemporary glass art, sculpture, and decorative lighting. All pieces are one offs, or limited additions, and are carefully curated to show the best of their kind. Vessel also works with interior designers, consulting on projects to commission truly unique pieces for clients. The artworks by Olivia Walker and Nicholas Arroyave-Portela that were selected by the designers of the de Le Cuona room are both extraordinary examples of the mastery of the ceramic material, form, and finishes.

Nic Webb

Artwork & Objects: ‘Rift’ sculpture, mistletoe burr and stoneware

Nic Webb is an artist and maker focusing on only two materials throughout his work – wood, and clay. Through experimental processes and traditional skills, his work explores the values and narratives in contemporary craft, the beauty of the handmade, and the relationship between the natural materials he uses and the natural world we live in. Using Nic Webb’s Rift sculpture the designers sought to emphasise the importance of bringing elements of the natural world into our living spaces.

Doris Bush Nungarrayi’s painting on linen was the perfect choice for the de Le Cuona room. It created a sense of quiet strength, and the designers loved the narrative of the work that draws on ancient aboriginal stories of the bush and nature.
