Reversible Fabrics FAQs
Reversible fabric is a textile designed with two finished sides, each offering a different colour, texture or pattern. It is created using specialised weaving techniques that interlace yarns to produce two distinct yet complementary faces, allowing for subtle variations in tone, texture and character within a single fabric.
Reversible fabrics offer versatility for both upholstery and drapery, allowing interiors to incorporate subtle shifts in colour or texture using a single textile. Their dual-sided construction supports layered styling, creative detailing and a more personalised approach to interior design.
Yes. Reversible fabric is well suited to both drapery and upholstery. Its carefully engineered construction provides durability and structure, while its dual-sided design adds flexibility and refined character to interior schemes.
In many cases, both sides of a reversible fabric are woven to the same high standard. However, performance characteristics may vary between the face and reverse. We display the Martindale rub count for the face of the fabric and recommend contacting our team if you intend to use the reverse side for upholstery. For drapery applications, either side of a reversible fabric can typically be used.
Reversible fabrics can be used to introduce subtle variation through contrasts in colour, texture or tone. They are ideal for layered interiors, allowing cushions, upholstery or drapery to showcase different faces of the same fabric while maintaining a cohesive and considered aesthetic.
Our reversible fabrics are available by the yard, offering flexibility across a wide range of interior projects. Samples can also be ordered to experience both sides of the fabric before specifying. We ship samples and fabric orders throughout the United States, and customers are welcome to visit our New York showroom to explore the collection in person.
